Tony Fleming Trophy
Tony was a Goalkeeper for the 1972 Chatham Cup Winners. He lived in Ashburton and travelled to Christchurch to play for Christchurch United. After he was tragically killed in a vehicle accident his parents donated the trophy for a tournament to be held between ChCh United & Mid Canterbury (Ashburton) Junior Clubs. The inaugural winner was Ashburton in 1989. There were a number of years where the tournament was not contested but since recommencing it in 2008 has been evenly won between both clubs. This tournament is keenly looked forward to each year with both clubs hosting biannually.
